For 80 years, Montmartre celebrates the traditional harvest festival organizing around the grape harvest of its famous vineyard located rue des Saules several cultural and festive events. This year, Harvest Festival will take place from 9 to 13 October. 5 days of celebration where gastronomy is honored in a family atmosphere.
During this special event, all Montmartre take part in party, and the mound gets its village appearence. Galleries, shops, museums and public buildings are also part of the festival and will organize numerous exhibitions, meetings, competitions and discoveries of all kinds.
Devoted to the theme of love, merchants will offer product tastings and “love” recipes. Children are of course also invited to the party since, among others, is organized on October 9the children’s day from 14h to 16h30 with the presence of a brass-band.
Amongst the main events will take place on October 12 the traditional Grape Harvest, the Non-ceremony wedding proposal (Sunday, October 13) Place des Abbesses overseen by the Mayor of the 18th arrondissement, the fireworks (Saturday, October 12), the postmen parade (October 12) who will give out letters and love messages to the public, and the inevitable closing show.
Finally, note that the profits from the sale are donate to the Comité des Fêtes et d’Action Sociale du XVIIIe arrondissement, association for social works of the eighteenth arrondissement.
